Veiligheidsklassen

Veiligheidsklasse I kenmerkt armaturen voor aansluiting op een aardgeleider. Bij storing wordt de netspanning uitgeschakeld door een overstroombeveiliging of aardlekschakelaar.

Veiligheidsklasse II kenmerkt armaturen die naast de functionele isolatie een extra beschermende isolatie hebben. Aanraakbare metalen onderdelen kunnen bij storingen geen ontoelaatbaar hoge spanning opnemen.

Veiligheidsklasse III kenmerkt armaturen voor laagspanning. Aansluiting alleen op veiligheidstransformatoren volgens EN 61558 / VDE 0570, EN 61347/ VDE 712 of VDE 0100 deel 410. De transformator dient voor de montagesoort te zijn toegestaan.
