BEGA Vehicle Blocker® – Bollard tubes as drive-through protection

as a supplement to BEGA bollard heads

BEGA Vehicle Blocker® is an aesthetic and functional solution to protect specific areas from unauthorised vehicle traffic. Their integrated lighting increases security in sensitive areas. Their minimalist round or square design makes them an attractive focal point of their surroundings. These bollards combine stability and design, representing a modern alternative for traditional barriers. Concrete-casting bollard tubes for foundations to be provided by the customer. Statically tested foundation plans for various foundation heights and application situations – certified for drive-through protection (square bollard tube 1.5 t · 50 km/h) and round bollard tube (7.5 t · 50 km/h) – will be provided upon receipt of your order.

Technical data

Protection class IP 65

Cast aluminium, aluminium and stainless steel BEGA Unidure® coating technology

The bollard tube and anchorage unit are designed for three different applications in conjunction with a foundation that must be constructed on site:

  1. Impact protection for an impact load of 10 kN in accordance with DIN 1991-1-7 (approximately equivalent to a passenger car with a weight of 1.5 t travelling at up to 10 km/h)

  2. Drive-through protection for a car passenger car with a max. weight of 1.5 t travelling at up to 50 km/h. Statically calculated and designed in accordance with PAS 68:2013 British Standard and European IWA 14-1:2013.

  3. Drive-through protection for a truck with a max. weight of 7.5 t travelling at up to 50 km/h. Certified in accordance with PAS 68:2013 British Standard and European IWA 14-1:2013.

Foundation options for BEGA drive-through protection bollards

We offer a variety of foundation solutions for the BEGA drive-through protection bollards to suit various requirements for stability and space. All options can be used with or without reinforcement, whereby the more robust options feature statically tested reinforcements. The tube is filled with concrete for impact protection and increased rigidity, which, however, does not offer complete drive-through protection. Ideal for applications, where only impact resistance is required.

The standard foundation is 800 mm deep and always features reinforcement. It ensures a reliable basis for conventional applications.

The compact foundation is 380 mm deep, requires a larger footprint and a greater reinforcement diameter. This option is particularly well suited for applications with limited space like parking structures, and offers the benefit of a lesser construction height. This foundation is available only for round bollard tubes.

BEGA system bollards Our modular bollard concept

The BEGA system bollards form part of our new modular bollard concept. The technical requirements that luminaires have to meet are increasing all the time, especially in the planning of lighting systems of all shapes and sizes. For example, it should be possible to switch luminaires by means of motion sensors, to secure traffic routes with emergency lighting in the event of a power failure, or to fit them with additional sockets or floodlights.

Their robust mechanics allow optional combinations of bollard heads and bollard tubes with integrated add-on components.

Simply order the luminaire head and combine it with the bollard tube of your choice. Both modules can be connected quickly and easily during installation.
