DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is a protocol for digital illumination controlwhich enables the simple installation of robust, scalable and flexible illumination networks.
With DALI, each DALI device is assigned a separate address . This means that a single luminaire with a DALI power supply unit or groups of DALI devices can be specifically controlled. This offers great flexibility for lighting design. Different lighting functions and moods can be easily adjusted and optimised at any time.
DALI enables bidirectional communication between devices so that a device can respond to a request for its status or other information.
The cabling is uncomplicated DALI current and data are transmitted via a wire pair. There is no need worry about the polarity of the cables. The control cables are carried in the power cable and do not need to be shielded.
Extra practical DALI luminaires from BEGA come already parameterised so that they can be easily switched on and off with three wires via a switched phase.
DALI Alliance (DiiA)
The DALI Alliance (also known as the Digital Illumination Interface Alliance or DiiA) is the global industry organisation for DALI light control.
It is an open, global consortium of lighting companies with the aim of expanding the market for light control solutions based on the standardised DALI protocol (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface).
To maximise compatibility, the DALI protocol is subject to the international IEC 62386 standard.
Full flexibility in configuration
Simple and convenient light control is the primary focus of all DALI components.
Luminaires can also be controlled via DALI in outdoor areas close to buildings. The various components are configured either using the software DALI Cockpit or the app BEGA Tool in conjunction with a BEGA Bluetooth DALI Gateway. Furthermore, BEGA Connect is available as a convenient control system.
